The Founder

Prof. Bishop. Ranwell Marko Mwenisongole
1946 – 2021
Ranwell Marko Mwenisongole was born on July 23, 1946 in Ichenzezya Village, Vwawa, Mbozi District, Songwe Region (formerly part of Mbeya Region)
Ranwell Mwenisongole faith journey can be traced back to 1973. In March of that year, he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord of his life. His salvation follows an invitation to a gospel meeting held in Temeke district in the Dar es Salaam region where evangelist Moses Kulola, a prominent TAG preacher of the time, was preaching.
After his conversion, he was raised spiritually in the TAG church in Kinondoni under Pst. Mark Mhina. While in Kinondoni TAG served in various positions, he heard God’s call and responded to His service. As the call became more emphatic, in 1978 he decided to quit his good job as a Manager at the National Commercial Bank (NBC), a job that had high pay, privileges, and high status and entered into full-time ministry. The impetus for the call led to the establishment of the TAG Upanga church in the heart of Dar es Salaam.
In 1992, Ranwell Mwenisongole was elected Archbishop of TAG, a position he held for 16 consecutive years until 2008.
Bishop Ranwell Mwenisongole ended his journey abruptly on December 25, 2021, in the early hours of Christmas Eve surrounded by his wife Irene Mwenisongole and family members.
Bishop Ranwell Mwenisongole lived a Life of Service.
